A launch brief covering the product, economics, materials, access and lead handling. This guide sets out practical checks, examples and the limits of the recommendations.
Choose a priority task
Before launching an ad, you should determine what exactly you need to check or change: get new customers for one service, sell a product category, enter a new geography or restore an ineffective campaign. A list of all business wishes is not a test plan. Priority helps to avoid dividing a small budget between dozens of different hypotheses.
Describe the product, target market, real constraints and the customer's next action. What information is needed? Who decides to buy? What needs explaining before contact? These answers matter more than the first banner or button colour.
Prepare unit economics and past results
- Price or average order value, variable costs and margin.
- Acceptable cost per new customer.
- Previous advertising costs, enquiries and sales, if any.
- Conversion of an enquiry into a sale and reasons for refusals.
- Available test budget separately from management.
If there is no data, mark it as such: this is an initial uncertainty, not a reason to invent an average CPL. A conditional calculation will help to form a guideline, but after starting it must be checked against the facts. The methodology is given in articles about the test budget.
Materials and destination
Gather up-to-date photos, videos, product descriptions, shipping terms, answers to common objections, and shareable examples of work. Check the right to use images and reviews. Don't add other people's results or certifications to "build credibility".
Choose the destination: website, profile, message or form. It must match the offer and work on mobile. For a store, check the range, stock and feed; for a service, check the scope, service area and contact method. Website versus Direct is covered in a separate material.
Access, lead delivery and responsibilities
Prepare your own ad assets and appropriate access roles. Agree who modifies the site, adjusts measurements and accepts contacts. Submit a test enquiry with the consent of those responsible and check where it appears. Don't run a budget just because a button shows a thank you page.
Agree on response time, contact methods, lead statuses and rejection reasons. Assign an owner to lead handling. Record source and campaign parameters in hidden fields, and keep personal data out of general analytics events.
Agree on test criteria before launch
The plan should contain the task, scope of work, budget, key metrics, risk limit and next action. Don't demand a universal payback period: different products have different demand and deal cycles. At the same time, technical errors and obviously unnecessary expenses should be eliminated immediately, and not wait for the abstract completion of training.
Compare the scope of campaign management in our service packages, and choose a channel using our paid social versus search comparison. Before starting, pass measurement checklist. A prepared business receives from the test not only numbers, but a clear basis for the next decision.
Before the next step
Record your starting data and decision criteria. Calculation examples are illustrative unless explicitly linked to a case study. Results from one project do not guarantee results for another business.
